High School Diploma from Canterbury High School, Fort Wayne, IN, 2002. I also completed one year of law school at Indiana University School of Law--Indianapolis after graduating from Saint Mary's. I decided to make a career change to Library and Information Science towards the end of that year.
Experience
I worked as a writing tutor at the Saint Mary's College Writing Center throughout most of my undergraduate career. I helped my peers to improve their skills in writing essays, application letters, and other compositions. During my first year at Saint Mary's College, I also worked as an after-school tutor. I tutored elementary and middle school children in a variety of subjects, but mostly focused on improving literacy and reading comprehension. While working at the reference desk at the library, I have received quite a few questions about writing essays and reports. While I have always tried to answer them to the best of my ability in the limited time I have available, I have often found myself wishing I could provide people with in-depth help.
